About The Position

Peraton has an opening for a Space Network Real-time Scheduler in Las Cru, NM. As a Real-time Scheduler, you'll be responsible for the coordination of all on shift requests for Space Network (SN) segment resources from customers and will schedule SN segment resources based on customer requests and resource availability. You'll also perform and assist in conflict resolution with customers and disseminate schedules to the SN and other support elements. You will need to coordinate all conflict resolution with customers, based on FDF requirements, schedule Bi-Lateral Ranging and Tracking Supports (BRTS), and monitor customer scheduling activities to ensure configurations are compatible with support requirements. This position will be responsible for the following: Prioritize and coordinate customer requests for Space Network resources to meet spacecraft mission requirements, network testing activities and demand maintenance requirements. Perform conflict resolution with the customer community and coordinate support with NASA ground stations and TDRSS to ensure mission objectives are met. Perform real-time conflict resolution with the customer community and coordinate support with NASA ground stations and TDRSS to produce a forecast schedule. Communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with the customer community to resolve conflict situations. Read and understand network briefing messages and fulfill the Forecast scheduler's role during routine and critical activities. Responsible for training and certification of new Forecast Scheduling Operators. Participates in procedural development from concept to final technical critique. Supports the Ground Network in accordance with agreed upon parameters between the company and union to ensure emergency and other required activities are scheduled and supported. Monitors customer's Demand Access System (DAS) scheduling and can modify the DAS events to minimize data loss or reschedule to TDRS legacy events when customers are unavailable to schedule. Ensures SHOs are accepted at the ground terminals as well as at the SNG and WDISC. Notifies the On-Call GN Scheduler and any NEN users that will be impacted when a GN STAT is issued declaring a ground site RED. Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and 2-4 years of related experience.
  • 2 years of technical training (4 years of related experience can be substituted for 2 years of technical training).
  • 1 year experience with scheduling resources.
  • 1 year experience with working with satellite ground station operations.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime, on a rotational basis as a part of normal shift scheduling.
  • Ability to assimilate data quickly, concisely and consistently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and coordination skills.
  • You can effectively communicate and network with customers to allocate appropriate resources.
  • Know to how to use a desktop computer and computer software such as MS windows.
  • You have strong problem solving skills and can work in a very dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter.
  • Must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Membership of the union is required.
