Space Mechanical Design Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

Antares•Los Angeles, CA
•$34 - $34•Onsite

About The Position

Antares is seeking a Space Mechanical Design Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to the mechanical design and development of their reactor and power systems, with a focus on space applications. Interns will work on hardware ranging from space radiators and power conversion components to reactor mechanical systems, progressing projects from early design and manufacturing concepts through integration and testing. The role involves evaluating system deployment across different applications, translating customer operating conditions into technical requirements and concepts of operation, and offers exposure to both detailed hardware development and system-level engineering for nuclear power systems in space and terrestrial applications. The internship is based at Antares' Torrance headquarters and requires onsite work five days per week. Interns will receive a relocation and housing stipend.
