The Real Estate Services (RES) Line of Service of the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) is the real estate arm of the City of New York. The Strategic Planning (SP) Unit within RES leads efforts to consolidate the citywide real estate portfolio, partnering with other teams to develop and implement projects that deliver cost savings. This unit oversees the entire project life cycle for space consolidation or relinquishment, from concept development to implementation. The unit also drives process and operational improvements for RES, including developing RFPs and implementing new technology. The RES Strategic Planning unit is seeking a Space Analyst to fulfill the functions of a Space Manager. The Space Manager is responsible for maintaining an inventory of City-owned and leased real estate, documenting changes in occupancy and utilization, creating and updating CAD drawings/architectural floor plans, and developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of space inventory. The Space Management team conducts continuous space surveys to evaluate headcount and utilization for optimal space use. Strategic Planning analyzes these results to identify spaces that can accommodate additional staff through redesign, consolidation, space reallocation, or relinquishment. Team members collaborate with Facilities Management, Leasing, and Workplace Services on space management initiatives and explore opportunities to optimize and create new spaces.
