Space Force MUOS Advanced Systems Engineer
About The Position
As a systems engineer for Space Force MUOS, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system. We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system. The ideal candidate is a systems engineer with a strong software background and has experience on large solution programs which includes both Hardware and Software. We highly recommend you apply if you have any of the following job experience: Have worked as a Systems Engineer on a complex software system. Or is someone who understands DOD domain/programs well, has a demonstrated capability to think at a Systems Level, and has a growth mindset.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
- 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Strong software background.
- Experience on large solution programs which includes both Hardware and Software.
- Experience as a Systems Engineer on a complex software system.
- Understanding of DOD domain/programs.
- Demonstrated capability to think at a Systems Level.
- Growth mindset.
- Proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools.
- Strong presentation and communications skills.
- Experience in the art of negotiation.
- Ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.
- Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
