About The Position

The Spa Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the spa facility, ensuring a high level of guest service, cleanliness, organization, staff productivity, and operational efficiency. This position supports the overall success of the spa by managing daily scheduling, payroll, inventory control, guest satisfaction, budget awareness, retail/spa product management, and staff performance. The Spa Supervisor ensures that all spa services, guest interactions, treatment areas, locker rooms, relaxation areas, fitness areas, pool areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained according to hotel standards. This position works closely with Spa team members, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Accounting, Human Resources, and hotel leadership to ensure smooth operations, proper communication, and a consistent luxury guest experience. The Spa Supervisor is expected to lead by example, provide support and direction to spa employees, monitor service standards, assist with revenue opportunities, control expenses, and ensure that all guests receive professional, welcoming, and attentive service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in spa, hotel, resort, wellness, salon, recreation, or hospitality operations preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred, with the ability to coach, support, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong guest service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns, special requests, and service recovery in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of spa operations, appointment scheduling, payroll, inventory control, retail sales, and daily facility management preferred.
  • Ability to prepare schedules, monitor labor, track attendance, and support budget control.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills with attention to cleanliness, safety, sanitation, and service standards.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use scheduling systems, payroll systems, point-of-sale systems, email, and hotel/spa software.
  • Must be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and business-demand shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of the spa facility, including treatment rooms, reception area, retail area, locker rooms, relaxation areas, pool/fitness areas, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Ensure all guests are greeted professionally and receive prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
  • Manage daily appointment flow, therapist schedules, treatment room assignments, guest check-in/check-out, and service recovery when needed.
  • Prepare, review, and manage employee schedules according to business levels, appointment volume, labor guidelines, and operational needs.
  • Review timekeeping records, attendance, missed punches, overtime, and payroll information before submitting for approval.
  • Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to ensure proper coverage while supporting budget control.
  • Maintain inventory of spa supplies, professional products, retail items, linens, guest amenities, cleaning supplies, and operating equipment.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and report shortages, overuse, shrinkage, or ordering needs.
  • Control product usage and ensure supplies are used properly and not wasted.
  • Assist with monthly inventory, retail tracking, product ordering, and expense monitoring.
  • Ensure spa revenue, retail sales, discounts, commissions, and service charges are handled accurately and according to hotel procedures.
  • Monitor daily sales, appointment bookings, cancellations, no-shows, and opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Support spa promotions, special packages, seasonal offerings, and hotel events.
  • Train, coach, and support spa employees on service standards, booking procedures, guest interaction, cleanliness, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Monitor staff performance and communicate concerns, coaching needs, or recognition opportunities to hotel leadership.
  • Ensure all spa employees maintain proper grooming, uniforms, professionalism, punctuality, and guest service standards.
  • Inspect treatment rooms, guest areas, locker rooms, pool areas, fitness areas, and back-of-house spaces daily for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and presentation.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, products, and treatment areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, stored, and maintained.
  • Handle guest concerns, complaints, special requests, and service recovery in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build positive relationships with hotel guests, spa members, local guests, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Work closely with Housekeeping to maintain linen par levels, cleanliness, and laundry needs.
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure spa equipment, facilities, pool areas, and treatment rooms are maintained properly.
  • Work with Accounting or Finance regarding inventory, payroll, purchasing, invoices, and revenue reporting as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records related to schedules, payroll, inventory, sales, guest issues, maintenance requests, employee concerns, and operational reports.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel safety policies, sanitation requirements, health standards, emergency procedures, and all applicable regulations.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of new spa employees when needed.
  • Attend meetings and communicate important spa updates, staffing needs, guest concerns, and business trends to hotel leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service, increase revenue, reduce expenses, improve scheduling, and enhance the overall spa experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.
