About The Position

The Spa Assistant Manager will assist the Spa Manager with daily operations of the Spa. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing and business plans related to Spa operations. Day-to-day leadership ensures AAA Four Diamond standards are provided to Guests by Team Members. Responsible with Manager to oversee supervision and development of Spa Team Members. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Two years of working experience in a spa.
  • Ability to learn operational knowledge of spa/wellness management software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of treatments and physiological effects.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well and accept feedback from others.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrate group presentation skills, and conduct productive meetings.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and develop realistic action plans.
  • Must understand how to create and interpret a business plan.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain UA Gaming License.

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President and Director of Hotel Operations along with the Spa Manager to develop and implement plans to ensure the Spa establishes and maintains AAA Four Diamond service standards.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; retain members of the Spa management team, providing mentoring to subordinates to enhance career development opportunities.
  • Coach and develop Team Members to achieve expected goals by maintaining a consistent approachable demeanor and articulating department expectations.
  • Responsible for coordination and administration of hiring, employee relations, training, staff productivity, and facility utilization, legal and licensing compliance.
  • Responsible for managing day-to-day Spa operations in accordance with established budgetary objectives set by Hotel Division leadership.
  • Work with Spa Manager on operations development, monitoring all facets of the operation, department meetings, standards, and promotions.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels according to business volumes; i.e. special events, holidays, weekends, groups, etc.
  • Delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activities.
  • Be available to staff; include staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; provide regular performance feedback; develop Team Members’ skills and encourage growth.
  • Oversee approval of all purchase orders and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Assist in development of menu of services and specials.
  • May be required to represent Thunder Valley Casino Resort to the general public, business partners, and community leaders at events hosted by the casino.
  • Accurately book, change and cancel Spa appointments.
  • Actively promote the Spa, treatments, services, retail, as well as programs, promotions, and/or discounts available.
  • Work with therapists to train, educate and motivate on services and retail sales.
