About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a simulator specialist (f/m) to join our Flight and Integration test center team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will also have the opportunity to work in collaboration with Airbus Toulouse test center colleagues. You will be part of the Simulators and Rigs Operations team responsible for preparing and executing laboratory tests. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as simulator specialist will be to ensure test platforms are ready to execute the tests on time, with the appropriate configuration and well maintained with the necessary tasks performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace or high-tech engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, avionics, and flight control principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Modelling & Simulation, specifically within aerospace or large-scale systems.
  • Proven ability to foster Team spirit & Team work, leading and motivating technical teams to achieve project goals.
  • Strong experience in Test integration, including the setup and connectivity of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments.
  • Extensive background in Test management, including defining test strategies, developing test cases, executing tests, and analyzing results.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the simulator architecture, guiding technological roadmaps and resolving the most complex integration challenges.
  • Lead the technical integration of new flight models and avionics equipment (LRUs) into HIL/SIL environments, ensuring maximum fidelity relative to the actual aircraft.
  • Perform continuous technology monitoring to propose technical enhancements (automation, diagnostic tools) aimed at optimizing simulator performance and efficiency.
  • Orchestrate the planning and technical execution of daily activities, aligning contributions from various stakeholders (engineering departments, suppliers, test specialists, and pilots) with A220 program milestones.
  • Oversee the technical preparation for certification campaigns, validating configuration compliance in accordance with Transport Canada requirements.
  • Validate supplier technical deliverables and coordinate their final integration into the simulator environment.
  • Define and maintain technical standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safe and rigorous operation of the test asset.
