About The Position

Haleon is currently seeking a Senior Specialist - QC Improvement and Optimization to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. As the Senior Specialist – QC Improvement and Optimization, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, and driving continuous improvement projects deemed strategic for the QC department. You will play a key role in implementing efficient, standardized, and measurable work processes to optimize analytical activities, reduce complexity and waste, improve overall laboratory performance, and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. You will also act as a leader and coach to teams to promote best practices, support change, and ensure smooth communication between different stakeholders.

Requirements

Proficiency in French is required for this position to ensure effective communication and compliance with our operational and regulatory standards.
Bachelor's degree in science (chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical, or related discipline) or relevant certification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or another regulated manufacturing industry.
Experience in a laboratory environment, including understanding of analytical methods, QC processes, and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and high-pressure context.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills to ensure effective interactions within the department and across functions.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated skills in Operational Excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) with concrete achievements.
Lean Six Sigma Certification (e.g., Green Belt).
Experience in a regulated environment, ideally in a pharmaceutical or QC laboratory setting.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, or support teams in continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to support large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

Implement continuous improvement projects identified as priorities for the QC department.
Reduce analytical complexity and eliminate non-value-added activities to optimize analysis times.
Identify root causes of waste and propose corrective actions to optimize operations.
Standardize and harmonize best practices across different laboratories.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the advancement of local and corporate initiatives.
Recommend the adoption of new technologies, methods, or tools to improve laboratory performance.
Monitor the performance of implemented improvements and intervene in case of deviations.
Participate in the CAPEX process for projects related to continuous improvement.
Act as a coach and resource person for QC staff in the context of continuous improvement initiatives.
Support change management and ensure smooth communication between different stakeholders.
