About The Position

3 positions to fill As part of Hitachi Energy’s power transformer operations, you will help steer the Lean transformation of the Varennes facility during a pivotal moment of growth. Demand for reliable, high‑performance electrical infrastructure continues to rise, and Hitachi Energy is expanding its Varennes site to double production capacity for high‑power transformers. In this role, you will guide the adoption of the Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) system—a key framework that defines the tools, practices, and ways of working that fuel breakthrough operational results across our global transformer business. You will collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary teams to enable projects supporting capacity expansion and performance improvement. This is a chance to shape how the plant designs its workflows, equipment, and layout, while helping people at all levels strengthen a continuous improvement mindset. Your work will contribute directly to reliability, quality, and operational excellence within the power grid supply chain, while giving you meaningful opportunities to grow your influence in Lean practices and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or an equivalent field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing or operations.
  • Green Belt Six Sigma training or equivalent certification.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to coordinate competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment, balancing multiple tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Motivated to coach, train, and support teams, with a proven ability to encourage progress and continuous improvement.
  • Skilled at guiding change and influencing teams without direct authority.
  • Bilingual : French English

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to reinforce continuous improvement practices throughout the organization.
  • Steer the identification and delivery of Lean projects that enhance performance across the plant.
  • Run and facilitate kaizen events that support capacity expansion and operational improvements.
  • Conduct work studies and support the design of new equipment, workflows, or plant area layouts.
  • Provide coaching and training that help teams adopt Lean tools and best practices.
  • Encourage awareness and engagement in continuous improvement across all levels of the site.
  • Support transformation projects that strengthen the plant’s ability to meet production targets.
  • Help teams adopt consistent ITM practices aligned with the global transformers business.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
