About The Position

To meet an urgent business need, we are seeking a Test Specialist for our office located in Ville Saint-Laurent, Québec. This is a permanent full-time position. As Test Specialist, your overall responsibilities include: design, development, and implementation of cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products. Plan the labor, schedule and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Supply comprehensive test engineering support for research and development and production programs to ensure total customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • DEC in Electronic
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated programming skills and previous experience developing test scripts using Python
  • Experience with various communication protocols and interfaces (for example, JTAG, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, RS485, RS232, etc.)
  • Knowledge of wireless communication principles
  • Good knowledge and understanding of electrical circuit fundamentals
  • Ability to handle test equipment - oscilloscope, AC/DC power sources, multimeters, network devices, PLC/DAQ systems, etc.
  • Team player oriented towards results and meeting objectives demonstrating a great sense for autonomy
  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from groups
  • Ability to achieve defined objectives with little direct supervision
  • Very good command of French and English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

  • Create, execute and maintain test plans to verify and validate new product designs;
  • Document and evaluate test results to provide necessary reports to the development team and ensure complete unit and hardware tests are performed;
  • Identify, develop and maintain scripts, tools and automation test cases using Python or NI TestStand;
  • Design models necessary for test automation;
  • Design interface and controls within models;
  • Work closely with other project teams to meet objectives;
  • Provide support to subcontractors;
  • Develop and maintain project timelines to ensure all key deliverables are met;
  • Coordinate prototype and pilot production testing activities to develop the design to meet customer end product needs.
