As an Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing essential support to our proprietary trading applications, as well as providing support to our market specialists. This role will involve a wide variety of technical troubleshooting and engineering activities, including deployment, software configuration, and system monitoring. You will work in a dynamic business environment that constantly presents new technical challenges, and you will collaborate with highly skilled colleagues such as software developers and market specialists.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of application support experience
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (multicast, TCP, routing)
- Basic scripting skills (such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, etc.)
- Experience working in Linux and/or Windows environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A customer-centric, service-oriented approach and a strong sense of urgency
- The ability to learn quickly and a passion for new technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage high pressure and time constraints with calmness
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize effectively
- Availability to work multiple shifts on a rotation (nights / early mornings) is required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in financial markets or with financial trading applications
- Previous experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible
- Previous experience with Docker containers
- Previous experience with monitoring suites such as Splunk, Kibana, and Grafana
Responsibilities
- Provide production support, software deployment and configuration, and seamless proactive monitoring to anticipate and prevent issues before they arise.
- Support proprietary trading systems deployed in a cross-platform production environment.
- Provide technical support during trading operations to resolve issues affecting strategic trading applications.
- Analyze trading strategies with traders and research teams.
