About The Position

The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for their client law firms. Due to increased demand, they are interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated South Florida Family Law Litigation Attorney. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 20-30 hours per week, with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity.

Requirements

Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Florida
Located in South Florida and available for in-person hearings and court appearances as needed
Minimum of 5+ years of Florida family law litigation experience
Strong experience with motion practice, discovery, hearings, and mediations
Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple active litigation matters independently
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
Self-starter with excellent communication and client management skills

Responsibilities

Manage and support active family law litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, settlement agreements, and other family law documents
Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy
Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and other court proceedings as needed
Review case files and ensure matters progress efficiently
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the legal team throughout the litigation process
