About The Position
Join the culinary team at the prestigious Delta One Lounge at JFK Airport, an exclusive VIP destination delivering a world-class dining experience to Delta's premium travelers. Operating 365 days a year from 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM, this high-profile lounge requires a culinary leader with open availability, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to excellence. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the Executive Chef and overseeing daily culinary operations. This is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic, innovative culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment. You will help create memorable guest experiences through exceptional food quality, creative menu development, and strong team leadership.
Requirements
- A.S. or equivalent experience
- Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon a formal degree or training
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
- Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
Nice To Haves
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
- Fine Dining - Michelin Star experience- highly desirable
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
- ServSafe certified - highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
- Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Leads and develops the culinary team
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company's marketing and culinary team
