Sous Chef 6:30am-2:30pm $22.50-28.25 (Full Time)
About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Sous Chef to join our team at Boulevard Wentzville. This full-time position offers a pay range of $22.50 - $28.25 per hour. The Sous Chef will be responsible for ensuring food items are prepared to culinary standards, providing residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste. This role also involves supervising and inspecting all aspects of culinary service, including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service to ensure they are up-to-date, clean, and sanitary. The Sous Chef will lead the team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching, and accountability.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
- Completed formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or an equivalent amount of full-time supervisory or management-level work experience.
- Comfortable creating, modifying, and printing word processing and spreadsheet documents using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to send, receive, and forward email.
- Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be comfortable to be in close contact to extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
- Ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Nice To Haves
- At least three (3) years of experience in senior housing or related field.
Responsibilities
