THREE BIRDS -- Dayton's new Neighborhood Diner by The Idea Collective and James Beard Nominee Chef Jorge Guzman. This position is for an experienced Chef with dynamic leadership attributes. Leaders in our kitchens function like coaches, directors, or teachers. The ideal candidate is even-tempered, can rise above the fray, and can lead and inspire through passion and a willingness to share knowledge. Values teamwork, communication, and constant progress. Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of 15+ cooks plus 2-3 management-level sous
  • Dynamic understanding of kitchen systems, inventory, prep lists, scheduling, ordering
  • Bringing creative ideas to the table
  • Problem-solving and finding creative solutions to everyday problems
  • Mentoring kitchen staff
  • Taking ownership of the bottom line
  • Leading the daily operation of the kitchen and back of house
