About The Position
Niagara Casinos is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join their Sports Lounge team. This full-time position offers a salary range of $52,560 - $59,200 per annum, with placement based on skills and experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and remarkable guest service, contributing to elevating the casino dining experience. The role involves overseeing food preparation methods, ensuring adherence to health codes and company standards, providing leadership to the culinary team, and assisting the Chef in their absence. The position requires working under stressful conditions, supporting a 24/7 operation, and maintaining thorough knowledge of casino activities and promotions.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Food & Beverage
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a Fine Dining Kitchen
- Demonstrated leadership, management and team building skills
- Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient mathematical and computer skills
Nice To Haves
- Certification of Qualification (Inter Provincial Red Seal) an asset
- Proven experience in a high volume kitchen environment preferred, including food preparation and large volume food production
Responsibilities
- Overseeing methods of food preparation, portioning, quality and presentation ensuring strict adherence to health codes and established company standards
- Providing leadership and guidance to the culinary team through continuous coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Serving as an assistant to Chef in his absence
- Developing and costing menus to create an excellent customer experience
- Implementing all plans and strategies identified as required
- Working under stressful conditions during various levels of business
- Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation
- Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
