About The Position

Sous Chef - Large Senior Living Community We are seeking a creative and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team at a large senior living community in Edmonds. Come join a team of dedicated, smart, and caring professionals as they work together to create a high-end restaurant experience for residents at Edmonds Village.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Department of Health regulations for restaurant including HCAAP and food safety program
  • Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
  • Experience with catering and large group functions
  • Safe food handling techniques are required
  • Work flexible shifts

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Culinary Director/Executive Chef, develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
  • Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.
  • Line cook duties
  • Ensure food quality and presentation is adhered to by all staff
  • Monitor and record inventory
  • Provide support to cooks with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
  • Train new kitchen employees to meet kitchen standards.
  • Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.
