Sous Chef (Full Time)
About The Position
Eurest is hiring a full-time Sous Chef at Micron in Manassas, Virginia. The position works a flexible schedule during hours between 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., and weekend work is required. The pay range is $24.00 to $26.00 per hour. Culinary and leadership experience are required. The Sous Chef helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook food, coordinates cooks and other food-service associates, and assumes responsibility for the kitchen and food-service associates when the Executive Chef is absent. The role cooks and prepares food according to approved recipes and production standards, supports timely production and service, and helps ensure food safety, sanitation, quality, and customer service standards are met.

Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards.
- Ensure deadlines are met based on production orders.
- Supervise hourly food-service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Store food in designated areas in accordance with corporate, state, and federal food-safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
- Maintain the sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and thoroughly clean the workstation before leaving.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service while meeting sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements.
- Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Relay relevant information directly to the supervisor.
- Understand daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
- Keep up with peak production and service hours.
- Monitor product and supply inventory and deliveries.
- Track production, consumption, and waste, and inform the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
