About The Position

Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Sourcing Specialist based in Calgary, Alberta. This role owns and executes sourcing initiatives to ensure continuity of supply and competitive total cost across assigned commodities and services. The initial mandate for this opportunity includes sourcing critical parts including raw material and components to reduce tariff exposure. In addition, supporting strategic sourcing for high risk and single-sourced parts.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of supply chain experience in an industrial manufacturing environment dealing with raw steel, steel components, mechanical, and hydraulic parts.
  • Familiarity with industrial components and fabrication supply chains.
  • Previous experience working with ERP software (Visibility. SAP, etc.).
  • Proven negotiation skills and supplier management experience (quality, delivery, and cost).
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; customer-service mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to those with experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • A Supply Chain Management designation would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop category sourcing strategies.
  • Source products and services from targeted markets; build a pipeline of qualified alternates and drive dual-sourcing where feasible.
  • Lead RFQs/RFPs, cost comparisons, negotiations (pricing, lead times, and terms), and supplier onboarding.
  • Build sourcing recommendations that balance total landed cost, availability, quality, service levels, and delivery risk.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and recommend alternate sources to mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Partner with Quality on first articles, supplier non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Support tariff and commodity code inputs.
  • Ensure country-of-origin and supplier origin documentation is available and current for relevant items.
  • Coordinate purchasing execution as required, including PO placement and expediting for sourced items.
  • Maintain sourcing and supplier data integrity in the ERP system; support basic reporting and analysis.
  • Liaise with Engineering to ensure suppliers have correct specifications, drawings, and revisions.
  • Support internal quotation activity for stakeholders when required.
