About The Position

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and negotiating the supply of various materials and services, with a primary focus on direct materials such as packaging, tooling, equipment, and associated spare parts and installation services. The successful candidate is responsible for the execution of global category sourcing strategy for used by Animal Health Manufacturing Technology Solutions manufacturing sites, with a primary focus on those sites located in North America. This position works with other global category lead(s) and colleagues across APSA and EURAM manufacturing sites to understand key priorities, support negotiations, manage vendors, and achieve critical key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement business. The ability to work well in a matrix environment, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with leadership are critical success factors.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Science and/or Engineering, AND two (2)+ years relevant professional experiences, OR Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Science and/or Engineering, AND one (1)+ years relevant professional experiences
  • Requires experience or commensurate education in business analytics, pharmaceutical, technology, or consumer industry with a strong background and knowledge of business analytics tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or effectiveness executing RFP/RFI/RFQ
  • Experience with negotiation and vendor or customer relationship management
  • In addition to fluency in the language of the local market, strong English language communication skills, both verbally and written are required

Responsibilities

  • Supplier and Supply Market Analysis - to conduct a detailed supplier and supply market analysis looking at facts and data analysis with the objective of providing deep and meaningful insight to Sourcing Management teams.
  • Cost Modeling – support the execution of detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services that are supplied to our company; this may include stakeholders and supplier visits to support the creation of the complete understanding of the cost structure.
  • Negotiation Planning and Execution- support the creation of detailed pre-negotiation plans with the Sourcing Teams. Support negotiation sessions with suppliers and post negotiation debriefs and follow through plans.
  • Sourcing – support the execution of RFIs and RFPs together with subsequent structured information analysis.
  • Risk Management– Execute required supplier compliance assessments and risk management tools, including development and implementation of strategies to ensure compliant supply and third party management
  • Order management– Partner with the business to understand demand for goods and services and proactively communicate to third party suppliers to ensure timely deliver; review and approve requisitions from business owners to ensure alignment with category strategies
  • Contract Management- support the preparation, negotiation and implementation of appropriate forms of contract and commitment with suppliers.
  • Supplier Performance Management – support the report out and control of agreed supplier metrics.
  • Stakeholder Management - Establish and maintain stakeholder relationship within GSM, Commercial Cperations, and Manufacturing. Understand Stakeholder needs and priorities.
  • Sharing of Learning - As a Specialist, the incumbent will be expected to generate quality work and share and transfer this to colleagues throughout procurement and relevant shareholder’s
