About The Position

Amex GBT is seeking a Sourcing Sales Executive (SSE) responsible for leading meetings and events sales efforts with a focus on venue sourcing revenue. The SSE will develop, implement, and manage client relationships for small, mid, and enterprise-sized clients in North America. This role is for individuals who are driven to sell services through prospecting, pipeline growth, and direct management of venue sourcing activity. The position offers a base salary plus uncapped commission earnings and eligibility for employee benefits. The role involves growing a sales portfolio over 18-20 months to build a lucrative income.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of prior proactive sales experience in Regional or National Hotel Sales, Regional or National DMC Sales, or Venue Sourcing meetings & events for a 3rd party company/organization.
  • Flexibility in availability to work remotely and manage schedule to be available as a full-time employee.
  • Proven track record in sales negotiations and closing skills.
  • Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the strategic approach to articulating value propositions.
  • Ability to get results and to act and lead as a change agent.
  • Strong financial competence.
  • Strong internal and external networking and collaborative skills.
  • Courteous and professional demeanor towards customers and team.

Nice To Haves

  • CMP certification is ideal but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for new business and building new relationships.
  • Cultivating a sales portfolio.
  • Retaining customer portfolios through outstanding relationship management.
  • Growing reach within customer companies via referrals and business presentations.
  • Providing consultative guidance and direction for site selection services.
  • Negotiating group hotel contracts to protect customer interests and drive event savings.
  • Providing contract savings reports.
  • Maintaining accurate data in Sourcing tool and CRM system.
  • Proactively following up on business leads.
