This role leads the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities to support overall divisional business objectives. The Sourcing Manager will formulate and implement processes to build a best-in-class strategic sourcing organization. This includes developing and leading cross-functional teams to create strategic commodity plans, consolidation strategies, and spend/supply assessments, considering total product life cycle needs. The position involves leading sourcing analysis and selection, performing cost and make-vs-buy analyses, and advising others on these processes. It also includes leading the development of contract strategy, negotiating, establishing, monitoring, and enforcing supplier contracts and agreements. Building strong partnerships with key suppliers and other business disciplines is crucial, as is developing relationships with senior executive leadership at strategic suppliers. The role requires identifying supply base risks and developing/implementing mitigation plans, including market, financial, social responsibility, environmental, and ethical assessments. Obtaining and communicating market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers is essential for identifying and implementing appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes. Collaboration across functions, divisions, and campuses is necessary to develop sourcing strategies and key supplier scorecards and business reviews, including organizing and leading review meetings.
