About The Position

MatX's mission is to make the world's best AI models run as efficiently as allowed by physics, bringing the world years ahead in AI quality and availability. We're looking for a strategic Sourcing Manager to manage sourcing strategy for datacenter rack development, integration, contract manufacturing strategy, and key vendor partnerships across critical hardware modules. You will build and execute supplier strategies that align with our NPI to production schedule, manage rack-level integration partners, ensure top quality, and secure favorable commercial terms. In this role, you will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to identify technical requirements, risk and opportunities, transition key component categories from early development to volume supply.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, global supply management, or procurement within high-tech, rack manufacturing, or advanced hardware industries
  • Proven track record of negotiating complex multi-million dollar contracts and securing favorable commercial terms with tier-1 suppliers
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to converse effectively with hardware architects and domain engineering leads
  • Deep familiarity with supply chain dynamics, risk management, and vendor cost structure analysis
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and strategic leadership capabilities.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth environment requiring end-to-end category ownership

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global strategic sourcing strategies for rack and key hardware component categories
  • Lead commercial negotiations, supplier selections, RFXs, and pricing agreements to ensure best cost, quality, and supply security
  • Manage supplier relationship management (SRM) programs, conducting executive business reviews (EBRs) and supplier scorecards
  • Partner with Hardware Engineering to assess market capabilities, influence design for total cost of ownership, and mitigate single-source risks
  • Collaborate with Legal and Contract Management to draft, finalize and execute to commercial and engineering contracts
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction initiatives while supporting rapid hardware iteration schedules
