About The Position

Further your career today as a Sourcing Consultant at Principal Financial Group! We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our Global Sourcing team in Des Moines, IA. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with business partners and suppliers to develop strategic consulting and professional services contracts and relationships. Coach and influence internal and external leaders and teams to promote effective strategies in category management and accomplish business objectives Collaborate with our leaders to deliver solutions for their business needs as we produce outcomes our customers love Support overall category management objectives Support internal compliance and supply chain policies, procedures, strategies, and guidelines Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and supplier management activities for medium-to-high complexity third-party needs, including supply and demand planning, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management Analyze data to identify meaningful insights and support business decision-making

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience (e.g., sourcing, supply chain management, contract negotiation, or contract law) demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Knowledge of and experience with strategic sourcing principles, supplier management, and contract negotiation. Experience supporting professional services categories is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts and partnering with stakeholders to deliver sourcing outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience negotiating professional services agreements
  • Prior experience includes analyzing spending patterns, managing supplier relationships, tracking performance, reporting, and strategic planning
  • Experience as a sourcing consultant supporting consulting, managed services, outsourced services, or other indirect procurement categories
  • Experience with contingent workforce programs and staffing MSPs
  • Interest in market intelligence and analytics within the professional services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and effectively collaborate with others to drive positive outcomes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
