About The Opportunity As a Merchant Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in procurement, supplier relationship management, and category analysis within the dynamic food-tech industry. You’ll work closely with the merchant team to support supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and sustainability initiatives, while learning how to balance quality, cost, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Business, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (bonus: SQL, Tableau, or other analytics tools).
  • Passion for food, sustainability, and supply chain innovation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new suppliers for produce, proteins, dairy, and specialty ingredients.
  • Support data collection and analysis for cost modeling, supplier performance, and market trends.
  • Participate in RFP (Request for Proposal) and vendor onboarding processes.
  • Help monitor supplier compliance with food safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
  • Conduct benchmarking research on commodity pricing and competitive sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Culinary, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure sourcing decisions align with business needs.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to summarize findings and recommendations for leadership.
