About The Position

Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft’s core cloud platforms and services. This role supports EMEA, AMER, and APAC regions within the Strategic Category Management Supply Chain team, which is responsible for establishing a supply chain to meet Microsoft Cloud's growing demands. The team supports complex, multi-billion dollar datacenter construction and lease projects. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 4+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 6+ years experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and execution of multi-year sourcing strategies based on business intelligence, Microsoft policies, and cross-functional buy-in.
  • Maintains strategic alignment with sourcing execution, Construction, Engineering, Cost, Legal, Risk, Finance, Safety, and other teams to improve Microsoft procurement.
  • Develops high-level negotiation strategies, organizes procurement bid results, and communicates strategy and results to senior management.
  • Oversees supplier selection and performance management using procurement expertise, policies, and market intelligence to influence channel strategies that reduce costs, mitigate risks, and ensure consistent, accurate, timely delivery.
  • Facilitates negotiation of final contracts that achieve business goals, provides strategic oversight for improving or establishing Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and ensures compliance.
  • Proactively segments suppliers and utilizes engagement programs to improve performance and achieve business goals, directing supplier activity across multiple accounts and complex purchasing categories.
  • Identifies ways to streamline, automate, and simplify processes, including deployment of tools, data analytics proficiency, and working with IT groups for system requirements.
