About The Position

Din Tai Fung, a globally acclaimed culinary icon renowned for the art of Xiao Long Bao, is on a mission to create first-class dining experiences through its unwavering commitment to excellence in food, service and ambiance. Soup prep employees are responsible for receiving, preparing, producing, and checking the quality of soup department items in accordance with Din Tai Fung's procedures.

Requirements

  • Basic knife skills
  • Food handler's card
  • Proper dress policy and non-slip shoes worn at all times
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks with attention to detail and minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Constantly exposed to both hot and cold temperature conditions is pertinent.
  • Flexible working hours, including early morning and late-night shifts; 6 days a week operation, including holidays. Schedule may vary based on business demands
  • Must practice proper body mechanics and use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury: Cutting gloves when cutting, Back support belt when lifting heavy items, Goggles and long gloves when working with chemicals, Other PPE as needed (if applicable)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic cooking knowledge preferred
  • Proficiency in using computers and tablets
  • Strong interpersonal, training, and communication skills
  • Able to speak English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Mix and prepare ingredients to produce the soup department food items (finished goods and internal ingredients), according to DTF's internal SOPs and recipes
  • Keep all kitchen areas clean and sanitized. Assist with regular deep cleaning of the kitchen. Follow established GMPs
  • Organize items within the department room and the walk-in coolers and freezers
  • Order and receive ingredients from our warehouse. Take care to check the quality of each item.
  • Ensure the labeling of all items are in accordance with DTF and regulatory procedures and standards.
