About The Position

Recycling Works / Waste Connections is hiring a Recycle Center Sorter in Elkhart, Indiana. The role involves safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials by sorting them onto conveyor belts and moving them to the appropriate areas. The sorter also helps keep the recycling area and outside yard clean, maintains equipment, and performs custodial duties as needed.

The schedule starts at 2:00 p.m. and normally finishes around 12:00–12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to remain on one's feet for most or all of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials.
• Sort recyclable material onto different conveyor belts and move it to the appropriate areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in the recycling area and outside yard.
• Help maintain equipment such as the baler and conveyor line.
• Perform custodial duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
