Alter Metal Recycling is a 128-year-old Midwest, family owned business that is an industry leader in scrap metal recycling, operating over 70 facilities throughout the Midwest, Great Plains / High Plains, Arkansas and Mississippi. With a strong commitment to customer service and sustainability, we are a trusted source for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Our corporate support center and marketing operations are based in St. Louis, MO, with trading offices in St. Louis and Hong Kong. Team members may begin in a production role and receive comprehensive, hands-on training. Advancement to other positions is possible when availability allows.
Requirements

- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Prior experience in metals or industrial operations is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining the required quality of the shredded ICW product
- Remove large pieces of plastic
- Remove stainless steel
- Remove any non-conforming material
- Keeps picking areas clean and orderly
- Assists with cleanup duties at the end of production
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics.
- Identifies different metals and sorts the various grades according to specifications.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently wear required PPE.
- All other duties as assigned.
