About The Position

GFL Environmental is looking for Recycling Sorters for Western Canada's largest and newest Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Calgary, AB! This is an afternoon shift position. Starting at 1pm until 9:30pm. This role entails efficiently sorting recyclable materials and delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders of the company. Requirements

A strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting 40+ lbs repeatedly.
Attention to detail and the ability to quickly identify and sort recyclable materials accurately.
Team player mentality with excellent communication skills.
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

Accurately sorting various recyclables, such as paper, glass, plastics, and metals, from incoming waste streams.
Ensuring that only acceptable materials are included in the recycling process and identifying and removing contaminants.
Adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to create a secure and hazard-free working environment.
Operating and maintaining sorting equipment as needed.
