About The Position

SPIROL is a global manufacturer that provides engineered metal fasteners for various industries including automotive, hand and power tools, aerospace, and green energy. They are looking for a Sorter on the 3rd shift to join their team in Killingly, Connecticut. The role involves accurately and timely sorting of SPIROL products, which can be done using sorting machines or by hand. The Sorter is also responsible for maintaining the sorting area, including the upkeep of sorting machines according to preventative maintenance schedules and ensuring proper line clearance. All items in the sorting area must be correctly identified with job numbers and tags indicating their sorted status. The sorting area must be kept clean and orderly according to the documented housekeeping plan.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. repetitively
Must have mechanical aptitude
Must be able to multi-task

Responsibilities

Accurate and timely sorting of SPIROL product, either on sorting machines or by hand.
Maintenance and housekeeping of the sorting area.
Maintenance of sorting machines as established in the Preventative Maintenance programs.
Proper line clearance of equipment.
Ensuring all items in the sorting area are properly identified with job numbers and tags indicating sorted or not sorted.
Maintaining all sorting equipment to the preventative maintenance schedules documented for each machine.
Ensuring the sorting area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner, following the housekeeping plan documented for the area.
