About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a similar role within the textile industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with sorting and categorizing textiles or similar materials is preferred.
• Ability to identify and differentiate between various types of textiles.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting and categorization.
• Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of quality control processes in textile handling.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Basic organizational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient work area.

Responsibilities

• Sort and categorize donated textiles according to established guidelines, ensuring quality control and proper organization.
• Inspect items for damage or wear, determining whether they meet the standards for resale or require recycling.
• Maintain a clean and organized sorting area, adhering to safety and operational protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize sorting processes and improve efficiency.
• Assist in inventory management by accurately tracking sorted items and reporting discrepancies.
• Support the overall mission of GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF DALLAS INC by contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
• Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay informed about organizational goals and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the success of the sorting operations and the broader organizational objectives.
