About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, part-time Sortation employee at its distribution center in Denton, Texas. The role supports the movement of product to company-owned branches by organizing outgoing orders in totes and pallets for shipping. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding and training and once performance goals are met.

Requirements

Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

Responsibilities

Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product.
Organize shipments into the correct containers.
Pack products in layers to ensure stability and efficient use of space.
Identify fragile products and handle them accordingly.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
Participate in activities and programs that support company health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety trainings.
