About The Position

PGIM Real Estate is hosting a 3-day externship program from January 5th to 7th, 2027, at Prudential's Newark, NJ headquarters. This program is designed for students graduating between December 2028 and May 2029 who are interested in learning about careers in commercial real estate and asset management. Participants will gain insights into PGIM's business, explore opportunities for internships and careers, and network with leaders. The externship will include training, case studies, job shadowing, and networking. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to interview for a summer 2028 paid internship. The program will showcase three areas within PGIM's real estate platform: Equity (Asset Management & Transactions), Debt (Originations), and Debt (Agency Lending).

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program.
  • Graduating between December 2028 and May 2029.
  • All majors are welcome.
  • Must have an interest in exploring careers across commercial real estate.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
  • Must possess the requisite US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration (Prudential does not provide visa sponsorship for this program).

Responsibilities

  • Engage in training, case studies, job shadowing, and networking during the 3-day externship.
  • Learn about PGIM's asset management business and opportunities for internships and careers.
  • Explore different areas within PGIM's real estate platform, including Equity (Asset Management & Transactions), Debt (Originations), and Debt (Agency Lending).
  • Understand how teams evaluate new opportunities and manage assets throughout the investment lifecycle (Equity).
  • Support sourcing, underwriting, financial modeling, and due diligence of new acquisitions and developments (Acquisitions).
  • Collaborate with partners to oversee operating assets, development projects, and repositioning strategies (Asset Management).
  • Learn how teams assess new debt investment opportunities and move transactions through due diligence and closing (Debt Originations).
  • Support market research, credit analysis, property valuation, and cash flow modeling (Debt Originations & Agency).
  • Learn about opportunities within Underwriting and Portfolio or Deal Management in multifamily real estate financing (Debt Agency).
  • Analyze potential loans, coordinate due diligence, and prepare investment packages for credit approval (Underwriting).
  • Support credit officers and origination teams throughout the life cycle of a deal (Portfolio or Deal Management).
