About The Position

The Sonography Technologist performs routine and complex imaging studies, manually adjusting equipment and transducers to provide accurate and comfortable patient exams. During procedures, the technologist analyzes anatomical structures, artifacts, and potential pathology to provide the care team with diagnostic insights. The role captures and promptly submits high-quality images, vital data, and patient histories to support accurate diagnoses and care coordination. It also requires upholding safety standards, maintaining equipment functionality, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This PRN position is based in the Radiology Ultrasound department at Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, with rotating shifts.

Requirements

BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
Obtain at least one of the following credentials within 12 months of hire or job transfer: Cardiographic Tech credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); or Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or an associate's degree, or a technical degree.
1 year of work-related experience.
