Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound school
  • OBMI License within 60 days
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
  • Registered Vascular Technologist within 18 months
  • AHA BLS within 30 days
  • Excellent patient service and communication skills
  • Sharp eyesight
  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Sound judgment
  • Advanced decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
  • Directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans.
  • Meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images.
  • Monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
  • Performs Ultrasound studies providing high quality images.
  • Completes exams on Meditech and verifies studies on PACS as soon as exam is completed or the earliest opportunity.
  • Reviews orders and coordinates with referring healthcare provider to provide the appropriate study.
  • Responsible for the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment, quality control standards used and accurate records of each.
  • Wipes down all equipment with approved disinfectant after each exam.
