Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound school
OBMI License within 60 days
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
Registered Vascular Technologist within 18 months
AHA BLS within 30 days
Excellent patient service and communication skills
Sharp eyesight
Meticulous attention to detail
Strong technical proficiency
Sound judgment
Advanced decision-making skills

Responsibilities

Utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
Directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans.
Meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images.
Monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort.
Select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
Performs Ultrasound studies providing high quality images.
Completes exams on Meditech and verifies studies on PACS as soon as exam is completed or the earliest opportunity.
Reviews orders and coordinates with referring healthcare provider to provide the appropriate study.
Responsible for the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment, quality control standards used and accurate records of each.
Wipes down all equipment with approved disinfectant after each exam.
