Sonographer - Per Diem
About The Position
The Sonographer provides diagnostic venous duplex ultrasound scans, including rule-out DVT and post-procedure scans, and supports clinics in Encino, Arcadia, Torrance, Long Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Irvine, California. The role also includes preparing exam rooms and ultrasound equipment, conducting medical intakes, entering medical notes in the EMR, preparing patients and sterile setups for procedures, and assisting during procedures. The Sonographer maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA, cares for ultrasound equipment, reports equipment issues, and collaborates with coworkers and other members of the healthcare team. Requirements
- Associate degree in Medical Sonography.
- At least one year of experience as a Medical Sonographer.
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Certification as a Certified Medical Sonographer.
Nice To Haves
- Lower extremity/vascular experience preferred.
- RVT or RVS certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic venous duplex ultrasound scans, rule-out DVT scans, and post-procedure scans.
- Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment and conduct sonography exams in accordance with patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct medical intakes.
- Enter medical notes in the EMR system.
- Use sterile technique for procedure setup and prepare patients for procedures.
- Assist during procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
- Properly care for ultrasound equipment and notify the office of equipment issues.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with coworkers and members of the healthcare team.
