About The Position

Medcan is seeking an experienced and client-focused Sonographer with a great attitude to join their growing high-performance clinical team. This role is accountable for the effective delivery of ultrasound procedures for clients during their Annual Health Assessment and other services. The Sonographer will also assist with facilitating patient flow through the clinic and coordinating with other staff to ensure exceptional service delivery. As a medical imaging professional, the Sonographer provides clinically relevant information to assist physicians with screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, consistent with their education, training, and Medcan's policies and professional standards. The role requires superior organization and time management skills.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as a sonographer performing examinations such as abdominal exams
• Member of the CMRITO
• Ultrasound ARDMS certification
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

• Breast, transvaginal and transrectal experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Review patient medical history, evaluate contraindications, obtain patient consent, perform required ultrasound examinations, and document findings.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and perform basic quality control checks.
• Ensure sonography exam results meet facility standards for quality assurance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional clinic teams to ensure exceptional service and client experience.
