About The Position

Insight Medical Imaging is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services, connecting meaningfully with patients, physicians, and employees. With over 650 employees and 20 locations, Insight provides services in Edmonton and surrounding regions, as well as in Fort McMurray. Insight is currently seeking Sonographers to join their dynamic and expanding team. They offer a range of scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, and casual positions, to suit lifestyle and career goals. Positions are available at 16 designated sites, or candidates can opt for float or rotating roles for a dynamic and varied work environment. Insight aims to connect meaningfully with patients by being part of their journey and making them feel comfortable, with physicians by building relationships for timely and accurate diagnoses, and with employees by creating an approachable environment that encourages professional development and growth.

Requirements

  • Possess working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
  • Handle difficult situations in a sensitive and proactive manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Graduate from accredited Sonography Program.
  • Current registration and active membership with insurance, in good standing with Sonography Canada.
  • Registration in good standing with ACMDTT.
  • Ongoing maintenance of continuing education credits in accordance with Sonography Canada/ARDMS/ACMDTT requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists.
  • Must have working knowledge of all US equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the Ultrasound area, with particular attention to infection control.
  • Instructs patients on examination requested.
  • Maintains quality control in performance of all procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist or fellow staff members.
  • Responsible for general patient care and safety.
