About The Position

This position examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. The Sonographer assists the Radiologist in performing invasive procedures, evaluates the technical quality of the exam, and develops a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department. The role supports and contributes to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every staff member is a Caregiver, whose role is to meet the needs of each patient. The Sonographer reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer. They operate the Radiology computer system to include entering and charging exams and supplies. The Sonographer maintains their assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion and assists in keeping the area completely stocked. They adhere to departmental rules and regulations while performing in a professional manner always.

Requirements

Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S).
One of the following registries are required: Abdomen (AB), or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
BLS certification is required.
Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program required in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
