The Sonographer position is a full-time role within the Radiology: Ultrasound department. The primary responsibilities include proficiently operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and/or cardiac procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathological findings, and reviewing patient medical records for necessary clinical information. The role involves positioning patients, selecting appropriate equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The Sonographer will also be responsible for identifying and labeling images, maintaining records, documenting billing codes, identifying equipment issues, and analyzing sonograms to communicate findings to physicians. Additionally, the role involves serving as a technical resource and preceptor for students and staff, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and demonstrating knowledge of age-specific patient care. The position requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development, and assessing data reflective of patient status.
