About The Position

The sonographer is responsible for patient care from neonatal to geriatric ages. This position is responsible for related duties to provide quality care dictated by departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

The technologist must have had met the criteria required to take the ARDMS and Vascular registries and have passed them. Their registries must be current.
Current CPR.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
Complies with all HIPAA standards.
Accurately performs all necessary preparation for all studies.
Consistently obtains quality sonograms using the knowledge of ultrasound procedures and technical constraints of the ultrasound equipment.
Ensures that all vascular studies are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Consistently prepares and maintains all ultrasound equipment including probes, gels and ultrasound machines.
Assures that the ultrasound room is always clean and well stocked.
Always prepares and maintains a record of the patient's name, date of birth, exam and clinician. Checks the requisition for completeness of information regarding the patient and the test ordered.
Assists in other areas where trained and as needed. Performs any other duties to fill the needs of the department, hospital and its patients.
