About The Position

We are looking for a Sonographer to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health! Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams (e.g. evaluates the uterus, ovaries, kidneys, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, breast, vessels, fetus, etc.); provides the Radiologist or ordering physician with technical and diagnostic interpretation of exams. Communicates effectively with sick, injured or disabled patients to record patients’ medical histories; explains diagnostic procedures, provides pre-exam instructions, and verifies patient’s/caregiver’s understanding of instructions; schedules patient procedures; provides medical procedure and care consider age, growth and development, and specific needs of patient; transports patients from ED and other patient care areas. Responds to emergencies outside of normal work hours.

Requirements

• Completion of post-secondary education in Radiology Technology and two (2) years clinical Ultrasound experience, or equivalent
• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
• Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers if no evidence of comparable qualification within one (1) year of registry eligibility.
