About The Position

Responsible for sonography functions, providing patient care, and assisting with medical obstetric ultrasounds at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center - Southwest (“PPC – SW”). This role involves coordinating patient flow with clinic staff and volunteers, performing limited medical screenings, pregnancy tests, and obstetric ultrasounds as delegated by a Registered Nurse (RN). The Sonographer will also complete initial patient assessments, assist with patient/family education, maintain patient documentation, report test results, assist with follow-up of medical conditions, and collect and run lab tests. The position requires demonstrating safe use of equipment, maintaining infection control, and may involve driving the mobile sonogram unit and serving at other PPC locations.

  • Possess and maintain current RDMS license
  • Possess or be willing to obtain sonography training
  • Comply with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work a Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility to include approximately two evenings per week, one Saturday per month, and PPC scheduled events
  • Possess current Texas driver license, personal vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for clearance to drive PPC mobile unit as needed
  • Willingness to serve at other PPC locations as needed
  • Able to perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, lifting, pushing/pulling a cart, and use of stairs, and ability to lift up to 10 lbs. without assistance

  • Excellent communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • Experience working with volunteers a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with clinic staff and volunteers to coordinate flow of patients

  • Complete initial patient assessments as delegated by a RN
  • Assist with patient/family education and provide instructions to patients as directed
  • Maintain patient documentation according to clinic protocol, Document and report test results
  • Assist with follow up of patient's medical conditions and test results
  • Collect and run lab tests as delegated by a RN
  • Demonstrate safe use of equipment related to patient care
  • Maintain infection control measures with all patient contact
  • May drive the mobile sonogram unit
  • Other duties as assigned.
