About The Position

Insight Medical Imaging is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services with over 650 employees and 20 locations in Edmonton, surrounding regions, and Fort McMurray. They are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Sonographer to join their dynamic and expanding team at the Fort McMurray clinic. Insight emphasizes meaningful connections with patients, physicians, and employees, aiming to make patients comfortable, collaborate with physicians for accurate diagnoses, and foster a professional development-focused environment for employees.

Requirements

Possess working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
Handle difficult situations in a sensitive and proactive manner.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient computer skills
Graduate from accredited Sonography Program.
Current registration and active membership with insurance, in good standing with Sonography Canada.
Registration in good standing with ACMDTT.
Ongoing maintenance of continuing education credits in accordance with Sonography Canada/ARDMS/ACMDTT requirements.

Nice To Haves

CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset

Responsibilities

Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists.
Must have working knowledge of all US equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the Ultrasound area, with particular attention to infection control.
Instructs patients on examination requested.
Maintains quality control in performance of all procedures.
Assist Radiologist or fellow staff members.
Responsible for general patient care and safety.
