About The Position

A leading provider of diagnostic imaging services, Insight Medical Imaging connects in a meaningful way with our patients, physicians, and employees. With over 650 employees and 20 locations, Insight provides services in Edmonton and surrounding regions, as well as in Fort McMurray. Insight is currently seeking a Sonographer to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is a full time, permanent position based out of our Fort McMurray clinic.

Requirements

Possess working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
Handle difficult situations in a sensitive and proactive manner.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient computer skills
Graduate from accredited Sonography program.
Credentialed in General Sonography and/or Echocardiography is required.
Maintenance of continuing education credits as per Sonography Canada.
CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset.

Nice To Haves

Credentialed with Sonography Canada is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares and performs a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures as set forth by the Radiologists.
Must have working knowledge of all US equipment and ensure all units are functioning correctly.
Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the Ultrasound area, with particular attention to infection control.
Instructs patients on examination requested.
Maintains quality control in performance of all procedures.
Assist Radiologist or fellow staff members.
Responsible for general patient care and safety.
