This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by performing diagnostic ultrasounds and reporting the findings and diagnosis to the radiologist along with providing quality patient care to our patients. The Sonographer will ensure that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families and co-workers. They will operate diagnostic equipment and produce high quality sonograms following protocol. The role involves identifying each patient, reviewing their medical information, and preparing images on the PACS. The Sonographer will also ensure the department is clean and all equipment is running properly, adhering to Mercy's safety guidelines. Specific to the Women's Center, this role includes completing all Ultrasound exams, procedures, and biopsies, assisting nursing and mammography staff, and maintaining supply inventory.
