About The Position

The Sonographer for our MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) clinic performs ultrasound examinations and records the findings. This includes routine ultrasound exams, as well as specialized procedures as directed. The role involves performing various scans such as nuchal translucency, detailed fetal surveys, Fetal Echo exams, fetal doppler, biophysical profile exams, 3D-4D scans, and transvaginal sonography. The Sonographer evaluates image quality and interprets captured images. They also assist providers with procedures like Amniocentesis and CVS, document patient information in the electronic medical record, and represent the clinic professionally. The position requires adherence to HIPAA regulations and participation in team activities and professional development.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid ARDMS certification with a specialty in OBGYN.
Nuchal Translucency certification.
Minimum of 2 years of recent MFM experience.
Experience with 3D-4D scans.
Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in a courteous and effective manner.
Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, eCW a plus.
Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Nice To Haves

Must have Fetal Echo certification or be able to obtain within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs ultrasound examinations and records the findings.
Performs routine ultrasound exams, as well as specialized procedures as directed.
Performs nuchal translucency scans per established standards and guidelines.
Completes detailed fetal surveys and Fetal Echo exams.
Performs fetal doppler when appropriate.
Performs biophysical profile exams.
Performs 3D-4D scans.
Performs transvaginal sonography.
Evaluates the images for their quality, but also interprets what was captured in the image.
Assists providers with Amniocentesis and CVS procedure.
Documents/updates information in patient’s electronic medical record.
Represents clinic in a professional manner.
Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
