About The Position

Song interpretation, a class for voice and piano majors specializing in fields other than performance that focuses on song repertoire to develop collaborative skills, advance interpretative insight, enhance repertoire knowledge and explore stylistic nuances. The contract is from September 2026 to April 2027. The estimated course enrollment is 15 students, with no TA support.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in collaborative piano; doctorate preferred
  • Active performing career combined with extensive knowledge of song repertoire and relevant language skills
  • Demonstrated excellence coaching singers and pianists in song repertoire at the university level

Responsibilities

  • Define course objectives and materials
  • Provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations
  • Teach classes as scheduled
  • Administer and evaluate student assignments
  • Prepare and submit final grades in accordance with policy
  • Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours
