About The Position

Unit is a market leader in embedded finance, offering ready-to-launch financial services like banking and capital to millions of end-users across approximately 100 customers, including Wix, Honeybook, and Relay. The company processes over $40 billion annually and more than 12 million API calls daily, having raised over $160 million from top investors. The Solutions Engineer role is a highly cross-functional, client-facing position within the Engineering team in New York City. This full-cycle position involves partnering across Sales, Implementations, and Customer Success to support clients from initial conversations through launch and ongoing growth. It is described as a highly entrepreneurial role with immediate impact, offering the opportunity to play a key part in shaping how clients experience Unit and help build an industry-defining company.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing engineering role (e.g., Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Technical Account Manager)
  • 2+ years of experience in fintech, financial services, or SaaS
  • Strong technical foundation, including experience working with APIs and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to operate independently and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A consultative, customer-first mindset with a track record of understanding and solving client needs
  • Genuine enthusiasm for fintech and building the future of financial infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to guide new clients through technical implementation, from initial integration to launch
  • Support the Sales team by articulating the technical value of Unit’s platform to prospective customers
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients: communicating new features, gathering feedback, and advocating for their needs internally
  • Translate client requirements into actionable solutions, including building prototypes, writing documentation, and developing integration guides
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and drive product adoption
